🎨 About Graham Cupples

Bridging the Macro and the Micro

Born in Scotland in 1962, Graham Cupples is a painter whose work explores the intersection between the vast and the intimate, the cosmic and the cellular. Through layered textures, organic forms, and shifting perspectives, his paintings reflect a deep curiosity about the world around and within us.

For Graham, painting is more than expression , it’s an act of inquiry. How do the tiniest patterns mirror the largest forces? Where does form become feeling? And how do we, as viewers, meet the unknown in color and shape?

Whether he’s working in oils, acrylics, or mixed media, each piece invites stillness, depth, and reflection. It’s less about answers, and more about noticing — the details, the connections, the spaces in between

A Journey in Progress

Though this is an early-stage showcase of Graham’s work, the vision has been in development for decades. With a background in both visual exploration and philosophical inquiry, his approach is intuitive but intentional — informed by years of practice, observation, and an enduring sense of wonder
